DIRECTOR OF YOGA MAMA & SENIOR YOGA TEACHER
Cherie Lathey is a Yoga Alliance Professionals Approved Senior Yoga Teacher. She is also the director of the Yoga Mama Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training School and the director of Yoga Mama Wellness. As well as this, she is the co-director of The Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy.
Cherie has more than 25 years’ experience as a body worker and has been practising Ashtanga yoga since 1994. Cherie gained her pregnancy yoga teaching qualification through the Life Centre in London. Since then, she has gone on to be the creator of the first Pregnancy Yoga App for iPhone and iPad.
She continues to attend workshops to further her knowledge. As a result, she travels annually to the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India, to practise under the guidance of R. Sharath Jois. In addition to this, she has hosted her own teacher, Nancy Gilgoff, in the Yoga Mama Wellness studio in Putney. She has also assisted Nancy in workshops in London and Wiltshire.
Cherie is a regular contributor to OM Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine, Elephant journal and Yoga. She also runs her own blog site Yoga Mama London, in which she shares her own thoughts on yoga and those of others.
Cherie is a committed Ashtanga yogi and has a daily yoga practice. She has a practical East-meets-West approach to yoga and a lighthearted view on life.
Yoga Mama Wellness runs a wide variety of general, pregnancy and postnatal yoga, Pilates and tai chi classes in its Putney studio. There are classes to suit the needs of everyone. We also offer rehab classes for those with injuries or looking to return to exercise.
