Director of Yoga Mama & Senior Yoga Teacher

Cherie LatheyCherie Lathey is the Director of the Yoga Mama Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training School. She is also the co-director of The Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy. Cherie has accumulated 35 years working in the health and fitness industry. She is a Senior Yoga Teacher and specialises several yoga disciplines, including Ashtanga, Yin and Pregnancy Yoga.

Cherie has been practising Ashtanga Yoga since 1994, after which she trained to become a yoga teacher. In 2007, she gained her Pregnancy Yoga teaching qualification through the Life Centre in London. She subsequently went on to become the creator of the first Pregnancy Yoga App for the iPhone and iPad. Cherie has travelled many times to Mysore in India to study and practise at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore with the Jois family. She has hosted and assisted her own Ashtanga yoga teacher, Nancy Gilgoff, here in Putney.

After suffering a back fracture on a trip to India, she undertook further training in Yin yoga with Norman Blair. She now combines both Ashtanga and Yin yoga in her own life, and maintains a daily practice. She has a practical East-meets-West approach to yoga and a light-hearted view on life. Cherie is a regular contributor to OM Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine and the Elephant Journal. She also runs her own blog site, Yoga Mama London, in which she shares her own thoughts about yoga.

In March 2023, Cherie completed training in Hypnobirthing and Birth Preparation Yoga.
