POSTNATAL YOGA CPD WORKSHOP
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The Yoga Mama Postnatal Yoga CPD Workshop looks primarily at yoga for postnatal women. In addition, we also look at integrating babies into postnatal classes. Here at Yoga Mama we encourage women to take a gentle route back into yoga and their bodies. We also feel that facilitating a sense of community within a postnatal class can really help postnatal women. It can help them to feel less isolated and help them gain confidence in handling their babies. Full information about the course can be found below.
Led by Senior Yoga Teachers Cherie Lathey and Toni Osborne, and Women’s Health Physiotherapist Andrea Yeboah Regis, the aim of this workshop is to give yoga teachers the information and tools to support postnatal women in yoga classes. We look at closing down the body safely post-delivery and how we can best support women both emotionally, physically and spiritually during the postnatal period.
In this workshop, we will cover the following topics:
- Integrating babies into yoga classes
- Physiological changes postpartum
- The cardiovascular system
- The hormonal system
- Postnatal depression
- Perineal tears and caesarean section
- Pelvic floor/ prolapse
The Yoga Mama Postnatal Yoga teacher training workshop is approved by Yoga Alliance Professionals. It is open to yoga teachers and women’s health professionals. Upon completion of the training, students will be issued with a Yoga Mama CPD certificate if required.
